What do we want?

I think one of the biggest shortcomings of a human being is a confused mind. I would not like to generalize this statement but unfortunately in my personal experiences in more cases than not, I see people completely unaware of what they really want out of life in general and also completely clueless on a majority of their decisions. It is more of a herd mentality in terms of what is a popular opinion on what would be right for an individual rather than the individual’s personal understanding of what is right for him or her. I feel that nobody knows us better than we know ourselves and taking a decision should be based keeping in mind ourselves rather than a generic situation.I have also written on how to take a decision in one of my blogs. Very often we are taking decisions based on social norms or other people’s opinions and are wondering why we are not happy later. I feel it is very vital to know what we want instead of a life of regrets. Sometimes our desires and wants might be frivolous and illogical but if they give us happiness, so be it. More often than not people advising us on any subject be it a career option, or marriage or choice of partner or a business investment, might not know our situation, our mental makeup, our capabilities completely so it is best for us to take the call. In simple words do what you want and know what you want.
